In the days after a loss, the paperwork can feel overwhelming. Here is a gentle order to work through — and we are glad to help with any of it.

  1. 1Obtain the official Death Certificate from the Registrar General's Department (RGD)
  2. 2Notify the deceased's bank(s) and settle or transfer accounts
  3. 3Contact the National Insurance Scheme (NIS) and any pension providers
  4. 4Locate the will and contact the estate's attorney or executor
  5. 5Notify insurers and submit any life or funeral policy claims
  6. 6Cancel or transfer utilities, subscriptions, and memberships
  7. 7Notify employers, and tax and government agencies as needed
