We stay with you, long after the farewell.
Our care does not end on the day of the service. For a full year and beyond, we walk alongside you — with grief support, practical guidance, and a steady presence for whatever the months ahead may bring.
Grief support, all year
Gentle check-ins and access to grief resources and counselling referrals through the first difficult year of anniversaries, holidays, and quiet days.
Practical guidance
Clear help with the administrative weight that follows a loss — what to settle, who to notify, and in what order.
A standing invitation
You are always welcome to call. Whether you need a document reprinted or simply someone who understands, we are here.
The weeks that follow, made lighter.
In the days after a loss, the paperwork can feel overwhelming. Here is a gentle order to work through — and we are glad to help with any of it.
- 1Obtain the official Death Certificate from the Registrar General's Department (RGD)
- 2Notify the deceased's bank(s) and settle or transfer accounts
- 3Contact the National Insurance Scheme (NIS) and any pension providers
- 4Locate the will and contact the estate's attorney or executor
- 5Notify insurers and submit any life or funeral policy claims
- 6Cancel or transfer utilities, subscriptions, and memberships
- 7Notify employers, and tax and government agencies as needed
General guidance for Jamaica; specifics vary by estate. We can point you to the right offices and, where helpful, an attorney.
